first month
Live 25-minute sessions
Long enough to make progress, short enough to stay with it.
A real curriculum
Science of Reading for reading, explicit instruction for math.
Background-checked tutors
The same tutor every ongoing session.
Free trial, no credit card
Your child meets a tutor, then you decide.
Why this weekend
Labor Day is the line in the sand
Summer is over. Whatever rhythm your family has been running since June, this is the weekend it ends and learning moves back to the top of the list.
Some kids have been in school a month. Some start Tuesday. Either way, this is the weekend to put a plan in place instead of waiting for the first hard report card to force one.
What the free trial actually is
A real 25-minute session.
Your child meets a Savvy tutor and works through real reading or math. Not a demo, and not a sales call.
You can watch the whole thing.
Sessions are live and open, with no closed door. You see how your child is taught and how they take to it.
Then you decide.
No credit card to book it, and no charge unless you choose a plan. If it is not the right fit, take no action and nothing happens.
How it works
Four things that stay the same on every plan
One subject, the same tutor each session, and a curriculum that builds in order instead of jumping around.
1
You pick the subject and the days
Reading for grades K–6, math for grades 1st–5th. Private plans run any day Monday to Friday. Group runs a set Monday to Thursday schedule.
2
Your child starts at their own level
The curriculum is comprehensive, fixed, and sequenced. Where your child begins is what changes, not the order of what they learn.
3
Sessions run 25 minutes, live
Short enough to hold attention, long enough to teach a skill and practice it. Tutors are background-checked and trained to teach Savvy's lessons.
4
Skills come back around on purpose
Review of earlier units is built into later ones, so a skill gets practiced several times before your child uses it independently.
A curriculum built to produce real progress
Reading covers the five pillars named by the National Reading Panel: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Math follows the explicit-instruction and visual-representation practices identified by the National Mathematics Advisory Panel and the What Works Clearinghouse.
She believes she can read
She has loved Savvy reading and continues to look forward to each class. The thing that has been most helpful is boosting Mia's confidence in her reading abilities. She now believes that she can actually read.
– Danielle, Savvy mom
What families say
Parents describe the same two changes: the skills, and the way their child feels about the subject.
He read the subtitles himself
I feel he is really gaining strength and confidence as a reader. We were watching a movie as a family and he read the subtitles himself! Now that's HUGE for him.
– Renee, Savvy mom
She used to hate reading
Nora absolutely LOVES her Savvy reading lessons and before this she pretty much hated reading.
– Priya, Savvy mom
The gap I could not fill as a mom
It's filled a gap I couldn't as a mom. I'm an elementary teacher and know how to teach but with my own daughter she was too frustrated with me. Miss Rachel is so great at making these kids feel loved and safe, which is the only way kids learn.
– Lauren, teacher and Savvy mom
Excited to keep it up all year
Elise is loving it and is excited to keep it up through the school year. Savvy reading has been just what she needs to help her feel more confident and be more inclined to pick up a book and read on her own.
– Bethany, mom of a 2nd grader

Still deciding
The four things parents weigh
Is it worth the monthly price?
Fair question, and the answer should come from families paying it rather than from us. This weekend the first month is 20% off, which makes trying the answer cheaper.
That confidence alone is worth the monthly subscription cost. But she's also making great strides in learning how to read.
– Whitney, mom of a kindergartner
Our week is already full. Where does this go?
Sessions are 25 minutes, at the same time each week. Private plans run any day Monday to Friday, so you choose the days that already have a gap.
Two days a week on a sequenced curriculum builds more than two days of ad hoc help, because each session picks up where the last one stopped instead of starting over.
Is the free trial really free?
Yes. No credit card to book it, and no charge unless you choose a plan afterwards. It is a real 25-minute session with a real tutor, not a demo.
The trial does not expire either. The 20% sale price is the part that ends September 7.
How do I know it will work for my child?
Families regularly notice changes within the first several weeks of consistent sessions. We do not promise a timeline, because the honest answer depends on the child.
- The same tutor every ongoing session
- One sequenced curriculum, not an unstructured hour
- Cancel anytime if it is not landing
Owen has ADHD and can get distracted and I love how she helps to keep them all engaged and redirects as needed.
– Marisol, Savvy mom
Good to know
The practical details
How does the Labor Day sale work?
Enroll in any plan by September 7 and your first month is 20% off. Code LD20 applies automatically at checkout, so there is nothing to type. From month two your plan bills at its standard monthly price.
What happens after the free trial?
If Savvy is the right fit you choose a plan and sessions continue. If it is not, take no action and you are not charged.
To get the sale price, pick your plan by September 7. The free trial itself never expires, only the 20% does.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime, with no fee and no contract. Cancelling stops future billing. Sessions already delivered are not refunded.
What if we need to take a break instead?
You can pause your plan, which suspends billing. Begin a pause from your dashboard, or contact support. Pauses run up to six months.
How does scheduling work?
Sessions run at the same time each week. Private plans choose any weekday, Monday to Friday. The 4-day Group plan runs a set Monday to Thursday schedule.
How is my child's tutor chosen?
We match your child with a tutor for the days and times you pick. From there they see the same tutor every ongoing session. Tutors are background-checked and trained to teach Savvy's lessons.
What if my child misses a session?
Missed sessions are forfeited, so it is worth picking days you can hold to. If a week goes sideways, contact support and we will help you work it out.
Which subjects and grades?
Reading for grades K–6 and math for grades 1st–5th. Choose one subject per plan.
Does Savvy follow my child's school curriculum?
No. Savvy runs its own sequenced program, so your child works through it in order rather than following whatever their class covered that week. Families who need a tutor to work inside their existing materials are usually a better fit elsewhere.
